..................................The art of the grill mark

Although these are not my most artful photos of food, the grill marks that my husband made are quite the work of art! This delicious trio is chicken, shrimp and zuchini on the bar-bee.

The chef's tip for future grilling, you should soak the skewers in water for about two hours before grilling. This will prevent the skewers from burning. As you can see, these skewers were not soaked(it was a last minute dinner). Also, when grilling shrimp pierce with two skewers so they don't swing around on the stick.
The marinade used for the chicken includes lemon, olive oil, garlic, onion, salt and pepper. Tangy and delicious! The zuchini was seasoned with a balsamic vinegarette dressing and the shrimp was coated with a jerk marinade. Serve with jasmine rice.
